Learn from my mistakes.
I'm sharing my latest dumb move. Partly to test if I can load pictures from my phone. Partly to stop someone else from making the same damn mistake.
About 3 weeks ago I noticed an orange that had a soft end. As a rule, I hate to landfill produce, so I opened the front door and hucked it into the shrubbery. We have a LOT of shrubbery.
That orange did not go easy into the night. No. It fought.
A week later, there was a stench of citrus mold that was…overpowering. It made the seating area in front unusable. Attempts to find it left me scratched and spider bitten I figured the stink would wane, but it didn't. It got stronger. People who walked by puckered their faces and were no doubt wondering if I'd finally killed Mr. G. The DEER avoided the front. It was a miasma.
Today, I'd had enough. I suited up and yanked or cut an entire wheelbarrow of vegetation. As I was about to give up hope, I found it.
I stuffed this bad boy in one of Magpie's poop sacks and took it forthwith to the dumpster in the alley.
Sanity is restored and I don't have to worry about the pet sitter passing out on the way into the house.
Small victories.
